The "Right" Corridor

When I went inside through the gate I found myself surrounded by big hedge bushes and big stones carved into faces which depicted different human feelings. In the moonlight those faces were not very clear. Those were on either side of the path which led to the palace. The path was made of stones embedded in the soil like ancient days. The palace’s was glowing and it was the only source of direction apart from the moonlight which led me towards it. As I moved ahead I found a parallel road on which creatures of various species were going in the opposite way as mine. I went on. The palace was appearing nearer. As I came close I found that the various creatures were coming from the darker side of the palace. I could notice silhouette emerging from the dark region. The heads of those creatures of were down and they moved slowly and quietly. A feeling of sadness was there on their faces. I couldn’t resist my inquisitiveness and tried asking them who they are and why they are sad.
When I asked them, they didn’t hear me. I pointed to some but they didn’t even see towards me. Unaffected by my call, they kept on moving. Since they were not listening to me, I thought moving ahead. After walking few miles I finally reached the entrance of the palace. The gatekeeper asked my name. I told my name as he checked that in his big book. After confirming my name he asked me to go in. I went in the long corridor. It ended at a huge hall where lots of different creatures were waiting for there turn to go to the ‘Decider’ behind whom there were two corridors. I reported to the manager before taking my seat. He checked my reporting time. I was one hour late. He asked me why was I late. I said him that I was late because my family didn’t want me to go. In the goodbye bidding ceremonies I became late. He recorded that on a paper and passed to someone who took that paper to the ‘Decider’s’ assistant. I took my seat and waited for my turn. I noticed that people going to the right corridor were very ecstatic and in the contrast, people going to the left were very sad. I was not allowed to talk to anyone else there. After a long time, finally my turn came I went to the Decider. He checked my log and processed it on his calculating device. The output came as ‘0’. Zero meant that it’s an indecisive stage. I neither belonged to the left or right path. But then the assistant passed the sheet of my late arrival to the Decider and it made my count to -1. The verdict – I had to go to the left path. I had to go to a path which had lots of sorrows and torments. After the months of tortures, I was finally converted to a dog and made me to return by that other parallel path which I saw while coming.

Now I am a Dog. I returned back to my home to serve and get that ‘right’ corridor this time.
